Superica

Charlotte, NC

OVERVIEW

STATS

The owner’s vision for the restaurant -
Superica is clearly Tex-Mex but embracing Austin culture. Tex Mex to them is just “Food.” It’s part of the culture and not an ethnic dining experience. It’s not fancy or pretentious. Walking in you would never know it was Tex Mex until you read the menu. The is ALWAYS a live music component. It is very “in-town” proud, not new at all. It’s basically a “Grand Café” for Texas food. If design feels like design, it’s not authentic. Music is creative and inspired by Texas. Superica’s need to all have their own cool-assed sign that does not have to stay in font to a logo. Supericas are free to express themselves, however, would be cool and fitting to the neighborhood. Lots of Humor in décor… As if the owner was drunk one day put a jackelope inside a big guitar. Superica is the real deal, limited offering and only done when the situation is right. Not forced.
PSB’s role was to execute on the ownership’s passion to create a creative restaurant atmosphere with often the nation’s best design teams, in unique buildings. PSB hired and led the design team from inception through design development.
