“Keep it Western” was the original owner’s motto for this quirky roadside motel built in the 1960s initially for the guests who had to sleep in their cars due to lack of hotel space in this wonderland just outside of Yellowstone Park. This hotel was the first in the new Outbound Hotel Brand of Adventure tourism resorts. PSB led the team to create this new style of hotel, with the inspiration from the spirit of “Outbound”, a place for adventure travelers to experience the essence of the location not just on the trails, but also in the design of the hotel. The existing courtyard was the crown jewel, initially just a small rectangular pool in a vast sea of rectilinear paths, and a chain link fence, it became a hub for fire pits, string lights, a new large pool with hot tubs and green space, and a wide open connection to the bar, conference center. Ultimately it is now the heart and soul of the resort. PSBs led the design, architects and branding team to re-create what is now a very noteworthy resort in Jackson Hole.
