Vinci Hamp Architects had the distinct pleasure of working with Peg Blackall on the gut renovation and restoration of the Belden Stratford, a historically significant 16 story apartment building located on the North Side of Chicago. This project required extensive design management and coordination between the owner’s rep, the architect and contractor, as well as with existing commercial tenants over a 3 year period that included planning, demo and construction. Peg and her team assured a smooth and efficient interaction between the owner and the design team, resulting in an end product that everyone involved was pleased with, an outcome that is rare in the construction industry. We found her to be a tough but fair intermediary, who thoroughly understood both the aesthetic considerations of the architects as well as the scheduling and financial challenges of the project. She worked with both the owner and design team to find solutions that satisfied all parties while keeping the project on track and budget. Our firm looks forward to working with her on future projects.

I had the pleasure to work with Peg in the renovation of Manchebo Hotel and Beach Resort, located on the Island of Aruba . There were many issues to deal with in this project as the hotel remained operating during the process. She was able to coordinate with the Architects and the Designers and bring the project to a conclusion that we are very proud of. Her communication skills and her ability to forecast the end result was critical. Her experience in the hospitality industry and how the various departments integrate was crucial in the decisions we made.
